Hobart, Australia, 11 December 2014

CGI and its clients the Department of Education and RBF have been recognised for outstanding ICT achievement at the 2014 Tasmanian ICT awards.

The awards celebrate outstanding work by the local ICT industry and its contribution to the state of Tasmania.

CGI and its strategic partners, the Department of Education and RBF, received awards in two of the eight categories:

  • Best Community Application of ICT – for the Department of Education Tasmania data warehouse and business intelligence platform project
  • Best ICT Service – for outsourcing services provided to RBF, Tasmania's public sector superannuation fund.

The Department of Education’s enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence platform put important school and student information at the fingertips of over 8,000 principals, teachers, administration and corporate staff across the state. Labelled an “educational game changer”, it supports evidence-based decision making that will improve educational outcomes for Tasmania’s students and schools. Developed by CGI in conjunction with the Department of Education in Tasmania, there is now a high level of interest in this solution from other education departments across Australia.

RBF provides superannuation products and services to Tasmanian public sector employees and their partners. RBF’s IT infrastructure services have been managed by CGI since 2011. In building a strong partnership and through improving service delivery processes, overall costs have reduced and IT can now focus on delivering improvements that will provide greater value to the business and ultimately to RBF members.

“We are delighted to have been recognised once again at these awards, this year alongside our clients the Department of Education and RBF”, said Scott Ayer, Senior Vice President of CGI in Australia. “With a strong and growing presence in Tasmania, CGI is proud of the value we are delivering to our clients’ businesses and the contribution we are making to the Tasmanian ICT industry”.

CGI has been operating in Tasmania since 2000 and specialises in outsourcing and systems integration projects within the utilities and government sectors. Its Hobart-based National Service Desk provides 24x7 services to clients across Australia.

CGI was awarded Best ICT Employer at the TASICT Awards in 2013.
